Faith came in today to fill me in on her and Norma’s
Italy Greece trip.  She could not say enough good things
 about the way you handled everything. 
She also stated how you were in constant contact with
them throughout the trip and that was so appreciated
by not only them, but by me.

She did mention the one or two bumps along the way
 and how you were so quick in rectifying these problems.
 She also stated you were taking care of the refund due
 them.

She will be coming in again soon hoping you can help
 put another trip together for her.  She is also telling
others of Chevy at Encounter Tours.

This is just to thank you for taking care of my group in Patmos. The tour company did a superb job. This is my 4th time in Patmos and it was the best service. The guide was marvelous. She did not only had the knowledge but she made every thing so livable. In the Monastery of St. John, visiting the museum, literally she had tears in her eyes explaining the Holy Week procession. We were all touched by her knowledge, professionalism and sensitivity. If you get in touch with them in Patmos, tell them how much we loved the service.

Hi Chevy,

 

We are back from our trip and had a fantastic time.  All of our flights, transfers, and bookings worked well, but there are a couple things I would like to make you aware of.

The first is the baggage fees on Aegean Airlines.  We had to pay 25-35 euro for each checked bag for every flight because they said we had discounted tickets.  I didn't mind paying the extra 230 USD all together, but I would have liked to know about it before the trip.

 

The second issue you probably didn't know about, but the travel agency in Athens changed our hotel from the Athens Gate to a Best Western all the way in Piraeus.  I didn't complain about it because we were only in Athens for about 30 hours, but I do not understand why we were placed so far away when there are hundreds of hotels in the city center.  Since we were not taking any ferries, there was no reason for it.  The hotel we were given was very nice, but it was very far (about 25 mins) walk from the nearest metro station, and we did not know if the area was safe to walk at night.

These are just some things I needed to bring to your attention to help future travelers.  The rest of the trip went exactly according to plan, and we were extremely satisfied with the tours, hotels, and services we had.

        We had a very pleasant tour , with a good driver Levent  , and a very friendly guide Ozdal

        They have done the best for us , for our requests during the trip, so that we were very satisfied !!

       All the towns were worth to be visited ...except Amasra,, I regret, but according to my me and my friends, we cannot understand why

       it is on Unesco Heritage.

      I should have better planned 1 night at Safranbolu and 3 nights at Trabzon, because the town, and  surroundings are very intersting , particularly      tea farms , old wooden houses..

      Never mind, this part of Turkey wins to be better known, ottoman style, scenic landscapes,no stops for commercial purpose...

We have arrived safely home.  The flight home went according to schedule, unlike the 5 hour delay we experienced going out. Overall, we are very satisfied with the package you provided.  The people in Greece and Rome were outstanding.  Having basically private guides/drivers in Athens and Rome was a pleasant surprise and the people were outstanding.  The Santorini tour/boat ride was just right.  The morning group tour in Venice was small, only 7 people and we really enjoyed it.  Having the morning end with a gondola ride was perfect. The afternoon part was a lot of walking up and down steps, and probably too much history.  Having the afternoon off would have been a better choice for us.  The hotels were all very nice.  We really liked the locations of the hotels in Athens, Santorini and Venice. With our early departure from Athens, 5:00 am, the hotel even arranged for us to have some breakfast which was a plus.  I would not have picked a location so close to the train station in Rome, but it worked out fine.

Hope all is well.  I have attached (2) bills which we had to pay @ the Venetian Palace.

We tried to explain that all taxes & services charges were paid by your tour company, but they insisted we had to pay them so rather than create a problem and we didn't want to be late for the train, we paid them.  Also, as I advised you we did not get the cruise on the Grand Canal or the minor canals.  I have attached a copy of the voucher which doesn't list a cruise and the tour guide didn't know anything about that part of the tour.   Please let me know if we can get these costs refunded.

Overall, we had an great time!  Our tour guide, Tasos, in Athens was excellent!  He helped us with the Stanley hotel as they didn't give us the Superior rooms and when we spoke to them they only had one available so my sister and daughter had to stay in the lesser room the first night.

Their room the second night was nice and we enjoyed our stay there.   Tasos and Effey, our tour guide of the Acropolis made Athens our favorite part of the trip.  We loved all of the hotels, except the Venetia Palace.  Again, my sister's room had an strange layout and had a clear door to the shower which was directly off of the bedroom, making it awkward since she shared a room with my daughter.  The room was small and they had to leave their suitcases on the floor.  Also, we felt they were not an American friendly hotel.

Everything else was great! The hotel in Santorini and Venice were wonderful!  We really enjoyed the breakfasts each morning and the scenery.

I also would like to thank Selim because he helped me twice during the trip in Trabzon area with Trabzon Tours Company.
