9.30am Meet your English speaking driver/guide and depart for the Medoc wine producing area. The region covers approximately 5,700
hectares of declared vineyards, annually producing on average 300,000 hectoliters of wine. Of the grape varieties permitted, 50% of the
viticultural area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and to a lesser extent Petit Verdot and Malbec. Also allowed within the AOC regulations are the varieties Cabernet Franc and Carménère. The region you will head to spans from the mouth of the river down south and includes the four
famous communes of St-Estephe, Pauillac, St. Julien and Margaux.

During this day you will have the opportunity to visit and wine taste in three carefully selected Classified Growth Chateaus rated in 1855 and considered to be amongst the best to express the local terroir appellations. Lunch is included at a local restaurant.
6.30pm Return to Bordeaux and night at your hotel.
Enjoy rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Bordeaux.

Breakfast at your hotel.
9.30am Pick up at your hotel. Today the wine region known as the right bank is on your program. Your main destination will be the Saint Emilion wine area where Merlot is the predominant grape variety. Here you will first enjoy a private visit and wine tasting in a Classified Growth Chateau of the appellation so as to better understand all the wine making process. Then enjoy a guided walking tour of the village of Saint Emilion that is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages of the area. After some free time for personal discovery and lunch, depart for another visit and wine tasting in the Pomerol appellation.

Pomerol is home to some of the most expensive, sought after wines in the world. Petrus, Chateau Lafleur and Le Pin are within walking distance of each other. Yet, casual visitors to the region would not know it.
There are no properties with a grand chateau. The area is humble and charming. Some of the top chateau do not have signs or markings of any type on their property to let you know you are there, or even how to get there. Here, you will visit and wine taste in one of the largest properties of the area that has been in the same family since the mid 1500's.
6.30pm Return to Bordeaux and night at you hotel.
Enjoy rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Bordeaux.

- Day 6 – Bordeaux - (B/L)

Breakfast at your hotel.
9.30am Pick up at your hotel. Depart for the Graves wine producing area characterized by the gravel soils (graves) after which it is named. Unique among Bordeaux's sub-regions, Graves is respected as much for its red wines as for its whites. It is the only district producing Grand Cru wines of both colors, most notably the Premier Grand Cru chateaux Haut-Brion (dry red and dry white) and d'Yquem (sweet white). Your first stop this morning will be in the Pessac Léognan appellation that covers the district's finest dry red and white wines. Here, you will visit and wine taste in two Classified Growth Chateaus to sample both reds and whites that have made the appellation so famous. After some time for lunch, your tour will take you to the Sauternes & Barsac wine regions. Both these villages are famous for their high-quality sweet white wines.

The classic Sauternes & Barsac wines have an intense golden color (darker than most other dessert wines), which turns a deep amber as it ages in bottle. The aromas include blossom and stone fruit, with a hint of honeysuckle – the trademark of botrytized wines. The best wines balance sweetness with acidity, concentration with freshness, and power with elegance. Experience a visit and tasting in a Classified Growth Chateau in one of the appellations and discover the expertise needed behind the making of this magical wine.
